According to KOIN TV, former professional wrestler William Albert Haynes II has been arrested. He was known as Billy Jack Haynes in the ring.
He allegedly killed his wife on Thursday in Portland, Oregon. Janette Becraft, 85, was found dead inside the residence following a lengthy standoff.
KOIN TV has reported that Haynes II was not cooperative with the authorities. He eventually came out of the house after a two-hour standoff.
Due to his age, 70, if convicted of murder or a serious charge, he could be spending the rest of his life in jail.
The justice system is a lengthy one and Haynes may not go to trial for this crime for at least a year or longer.
Haynes was trained by Stu Hart, the legendary wrestling trainer. He was also trained by Bruce & Keith Hart.
He had competed in professional wrestling from 1982 through 1995. Haynes was a singles and tag team wrestler. He also served as a wrestling promoter.
In his in-ring career, he was also known as Billy Jack, Billy Haynes, and Black Blood.
His last match, according to cagematch.net, Haynes defeated Tracy Smothers at an USWA event at the Mid-South Coliseum in Memphis, Tennessee on October 23rd, 1995.
Cagematch.net says that he won nearly 700 fights in his career.
