Sam Mayer wins first race at Fort Worth

Carolina Carports sponsored driver Sam Mayer won the Andy’s Frozen Custard 300 on Saturday at the Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth, Texas. This is JR Motorsports’ 82nd career NASCAR Xfinity Series win.

Mayer led just five laps before his win. This was his first win of the 2024 season.

In 92 career starts, Meyer now has five career wins. All five of those wins have come in the past two seasons.

The 21-year-old won at Fort Worth for the first time. He also has wins at Elkhart Lake, Watkins Glen, Charlotte Motor Speedway Road Course, and Homestead-Miami Speedway.

This was the first win with Mayer under the Carolina Carports sponsorship. His previous four wins have come under the Accelerate Pros Talent sponsorship.

Sci Apa-sponsored driver Ryan Sieg finished second. It was so close between Mayer and Sieg as it was a 0.002-second finish.

Brandt and Trademark Nitrogen-sponsored driver Justin Allgaier finished third. Allgaier led a race-high 117 laps before finishing third.

Celsius-sponsored driver A.J. Allmendinger finished fourth. Andy’s Frozen Custard-sponsored driver Cole Custer finished fifth.
