The Detroit Lions fans are celebrating the upcoming draft in their city. Now, they will celebrate one of their own staying put.
The Lions have re-signed star wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown on Wednesday. He has agreed to a four-year contract extension worth $120 million.
St. Brown will receive $77 million in guaranteed money. He can earn $43 million more through incentives.
He is now the highest paid wide receiver in the NFL. He has an average of $30 million per season.
The 24-year-old had a breakout season in 2023. He appeared in and started 16 games on the season.
On the field, he had 119 receptions for 1,515 yards and 10 touchdowns. He also had four carries for 24 yards.
He was the favorite target of quarterback Jared Goff last season. Both men were key factors in the Lions winning the NFC North for the first time last season.
It was the Lions first Division title since they won the NFC Central in 1993.
In his three years in the league, St. Brown has appeared in 49 games. He has made 41 starts.
He has had 315 receptions for 3,588 yards and 21 touchdowns. He also has 20 carries for 180 yards and a touchdown.
