The Philadelphia Union have not won at home in the past two months. Their last home win came on March 30th.

The Union had a 2-2 draw on Saturday night to CF Montréal. This was the Union’s third straight draw.

Subaru Park was one of the toughest places to play in recent memory. They had a home win streak that lasted over 20 games that ended in 2023.

This season, the team has just one win. That came on March 30th when they defeated Minnesota United FC 2-0.

Since that time, the team has either picked up a draw or lost. They can’t seem to muster a win along the Delaware River.

This current Union team is struggling. And it’s not clear when that will end.

The team has been battling injuries, as is a lot of the other teams. Star goalkeeper Andre Blake has not played since April.

Since Blake has been out, Oliver Semmle has been in net. Prior to this season, he had no prior MLS experience..

This week, the team announced that Blake had surgery on his meniscus and will be out at least through July.

The team is also dealing with an injury to star Julian Carranza lately. He was not listed in the lineup or substitutes for the game.

But as we know with sports, it’s a next-man up mentality. Plus, when teams begin to struggle, it usually lingers and becomes a problem for the rest of the season.

Head coach Jim Curtin would like for his team to play for a playoff spot. But they’ll have to do a lot more winning in the rest of this season to even come close to doing that.

Philadelphia’s soccer club will have a week off. Then, they will play Inter Miami CF on June 15th.

At press time, Inter Miami CF is leading the Eastern Conference. Yet, when these two teams collide on the 15th, each team will be different.

Each team will be impacted by the upcoming Copa America and Euros tournaments that will be playing around the same time. Lionel Messi, the biggest star for Inter Miami CF, will not play in the game.

He will be with Argentina, who kick off the Copa America on June 20th. On June 14th, just one day before the scheduled game with the Union, Argentina has a friendly at Commanders Field in Landover, Maryland.

Curtin will need some players to step up in the matchup with Inter Miami CF. Will they? That’s yet to be determined.

Since April 6th, the Union have just two wins in 11 games. However, both of these wins have come on the road.

They defeated Nashville SC 2-1 on April 6th at Geodis Park in Nashville, Tennessee. Then on May 18th, they defeated the New England Revolution 3-0 at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts.

CF Montréal is undefeated in their last three games. They have two draws and a win in this time frame.

They have a 0-0 draw with Nashville SC on May 25th. Then they defeated D.C. United 4-2 on May 29th.

The team also has the 2-2 draw with the Union.

CF Montréal got on the board first when Sunusi Ibrahim scored in the first minute. Later, Samuel Piette scored in the 66th minute.

The Union tied the game at 1 each when Daniel Gazdag converted a penalty kick. Mikael Uhre scored two minutes later in the 58th minute as the Union took a 2-1 lead.

Then, a short time later, Piette scored to tie it. Neither team would score again in the contest.
