According to Hidden Valley Speedway in Pennsylvania, Pro Stock driver Jim Bloom was injured at the track on Friday night. At press time, the extent of his injuries are not known.

The track said his injuries are due to a drive shaft injury.

“Please keep Penn-Ohio Pro Stock driver and very good friend Jim Bloom in your prayers following his injury here last night,” Hidden Valley Speedway said in a Facebook post. “It’s crazy how such a freak incident like a thrown drive shaft can happen, but unfortunately it does.

“Jim has a long road ahead of him and we hope it’s a speedy recovery. ❤️‍🩹 prayers Jim.”

The track said he will be out for a long time. But it is not clear how long he will be sidelined.

His injury is the second known injury from the same night that we know about. On Friday night during the USAC Sprint Week, Sprint Car driver Stevie Sussex was burned during an incident at Lincoln Park Speedway in Indiana.

He was transported to a burn unit at a nearby hospital. Sussex was competing for Tyler Sturgeon Racing when the incident with the fire happened.

Sussex was able to get out of the Sprint Car on his own power as he was on fire. He eventually was put in an ambulance and transported to the hospital.

Please keep Penn-Ohio Pro Stock driver and very good friend Jim Bloom in your prayers following his injury here last…
