New York Giants rookie wide receiver Malik Nabers left the Thursday Night Football contest. Nabers was injured against the Dallas Cowboys at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
Before being ruled out, Nabers attempted to make a catch along the sideline. As he was going down, a Cowboys player, which appeared to be cornerback Trevon Diggs, made contact with him and Nabers had a hard landing.
He landed on his right shoulder and face on the play. Nabers, their 2024 first round draft pick, then went into the medical tent before eventually making his way to the locker room.
This additional time off may come in handy for Nabers. Typically, a player, if he is cleared, can return to the lineup in a week.
However, Nabers and the Giants will have additional time at their hands. A few extra days.
Their next game is not until Sunday; October 6th on the road against the Seattle Seahawks.
The Giants will continue to monitor his condition in the coming days.
Nabers was having his second best game of his rookie season in the contest against the Cowboys. He had 12 receptions for 115 yards.
His best game so far was in Week 2 against the Washington Commanders. He had 10 receptions for 127 yards in the game.
