Auburn football player DeAngelo “Trill” Carter shot in Charlotte

According to ESPN, Auburn Tigers football player DeAngelo “Trill” Carter was shot on Thursday. The incident happened in Charlotte, North Carolina.

The defensive lineman was shot in his chest at 11:45 pm EST. He was shot in a parking lot on East 6th Street in uptown Charlotte, according to WTVY-TV.

The ESPN report states that he was transported to a nearby hospital after the shooting. Then he was released approximately two hours later.

At press time, there are no suspects, according to the police report. If you have any information, the police are asking you to contact them.

This past season, Carter was in his sixth season of college football. It was his first season with the Tigers.

He previously played for the Minnesota Golden Gophers and the Texas Longhorns.

Carter appeared in nine games this past season for the 5-7 Tigers. With the 5-7 record, the Tigers are not among the Bowl-eligible teams at this present time …

Unless another Bowl-eligible team opts out of the Bowl game due to transfer portal issues. This past weekend, the Marshall Thundering Herd opted out of the Bowl game because of transfer portal issues as reportedly nearly 30 players in the transfer portal and are expecting their former coach to the Southern Miss. Golden Eagles.

Carter had four tackles, including a tackle for a loss, according to College Football Reference, during his time with the Auburn, Alabama-based team.

In his college football journey, Carter appeared in 55 games with the three teams. He had 69 total tackles, including 12 tackles for a loss, and 5.0 sacks. 

He also had one interception that was returned for 24 yards. He also had one forced fumble and two pass deflections.
