One month after Brett Favre announced his retirement, the Green Bay Packers placed him on their reserve/retired list. The Packers are doing this to keep his rights.

Favre still had time left on his contract when he retired in March. With this reserve/retired list move, the Packers are retaining his rights under the contract should he consider a comeback.
