By Anthony Caruso III | Publisher Former Kansas City Chiefs linebacker Javon Belcher claimed that he was going to kill his girlfriend, before he did, according to the authorities. He allegedly sent a text message about potentially shooting her, the police report said. The Detectives said in a report, which was obtained by the Kansas City Star, Belcher shot Kasandra Perkins, before ending his own life on December 1st. He sent another woman a text message claiming that he ‘would shoot’ Perkins ‘if she didn’t leave him alone.’ The police said that Belcher murdered Perkins by shooting her, in the home that they shared together in the early morning of December 1st. Belcher and Perkins had a three-month-old daughter together. In the police report it claims that Belcher had a secret relationship with a 22-year-old female. He told this secret woman – who was not identified – that Perkins kept pushing her buttons and would make him angry. In addition, the lover claimed that Belcher told her that Perkins ‘threatened to take all his money and his child if they split up.’ Before the murder-suicide, the relationship between Belcher and Perkins became strained. Chiefs head coach Romeo Crennel reportedly told the detectives investigating the case that Belcher claimed that Perkins was the reason for him missing a team meeting. Crennel said that one night, when she didn’t come home, the police report said, he blamed it on her. Crennel also said that Belcher claimed that they had “trust issues.” Two weeks prior to the murder-suicide, Belcher’s mother Cheryl Shepard moved in with the couple. Shepard claimed that the two were having ‘relationship problems due to financial issues associated with Perkins’ spending habits.’ At the time of Belcher’s murder-suicide, he was making more than $1 million in the league. Shepard told the authorities that an argument, which led to the deaths, was ‘in regard to one or both of them going out, as in, to a club or partying.’
