The Tampa Bay Buccaneers used their No. 1 overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft to select Jameis Winston. The quarterback previously played college football at Florida State.
Many draft experts have linked Winston to former Oakland Raiders No. 1 overall pick JaMarcus Russell. The strong-armed quarterback failed to have success with the Raiders in the NFL after being drafted.

The Buccaneers are hoping that Winston could turn into a franchise quarterback. The team had three players, who played quarterback last season.
Josh McCown was the team’s starter of the majority of the season. He went 1-10 as the starter in 11 games.
McCown went 184 of 327 for 2,206 passing yards. He also had 11 touchdowns and 14 interceptions.
Mike Glennon started the other five games, as he went 1-4. Glennon went 117 of 203 for 1,417 passing yards.
He also had 10 touchdowns and six interceptions.
Bobby Rainey, who is primarily a running back, also went 0-of-1 in passing attempts.
Winston only played two seasons at Florida State. As a sophomore in 2014, he went 305 of 467 for 3,907 passing yards in 13 games. He also had 25 touchdowns and 18 interceptions.
As a freshman in 2013, he went 257 of 384 for 4,057 passing yards in 14 games. He had 40 touchdowns and 10 interceptions.
Following the completion of the regular season in 2013, he was named the Heisman Trophy winner. That same season, he guided the Seminoles to their first National Championship since 1999.
As a college football quarterback, he lost just one game. That came on January 1st against the Oregon Ducks.
