The Philadelphia Eagles are not going to be the only one in the NFC East, who will make a coaching change. The New York Giants are expected to offer Tom Coughlin an opportunity to retire before being fired.
The team will give him that opportunity because he’s been the head coach for the past 12 years and won two Super Bowls during his tenure. Both of the Super Bowl wins were against the New England Patriots in 2007 and 2011.
However, this season, the team is just 6-9 and was blown out against the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday Night Football on NBC. It didn’t appear if suspended wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. could have made a difference in the game.

Coughlin has been the Giants head coach since the 2004 season. During his tenure, he only had four seasons when the team won more than 10 games.
They won 10 games each during the 2007 and 2010 seasons. In 2005, the Giants won 11 games, while the team won 12 games during the 2008 season.
He’s been an NFL head coach for 20 years. Besides the 12 years with the Giants, he spent 8 years with the Jacksonville Jaguars.
He has a career 102-89 record with the Giants and he went 68-60 with the Jaguars. He was 4-4 in the postseason with the Jaguars and went 11-8 with the Giants in the extra season.

He has a career record of 21 games above .500. Besides the two Super Bowls, his teams have won two conference championships and five division championships.
A few years ago, Coughlin was in a similar position, before the team offered him an opportunity to make some changes to his coaching staff to keep his job. But that won’t be happening this time around, as the Giants will look for a new future without Coughlin on the sidelines.
