Michigan Wolverines Head Coach Jim Harbaugh is attempting to snatching up to seven Ole Miss Rebels players after the school was hit with NCAA sanctions. This list includes quarterback Shea Patterson, who as we mentioned over the weekend, plans to transfer.

On Friday, the NCAA levied sanctions against the football program. This includes a reduction of scholarships and a 2018 Bowl ban.

Despite being Bowl eligible this season, the school was not eligible because of a self-imposed penalty earlier this year. Hugh Freeze, the Head Coach, who let the violations happen, basically got a slap on the wrist and was suspended a few games.

Normally, players, who transfer have to sit out a mandated one-year before being eligible to play once again. However, due to special circumstances, like what happened following the NCAA’s ruling in the Penn State case, players were able to transfer with no penalty.

The NCAA has not made it clear this time around. However, many at Michigan, Ole Miss, and other teams believe that will also be the case this time around.

The list, besides Patterson, who suffered a torn ACL mid-season, redshirt sophomore wide receiver Van Jefferson, sophomore safety Deontay Anderson, tackle Greg Little, tackle Bryce Mathews, linebacker Breon Dixon and tight end Jacob Mathis.

Depending on their scholarships, all of these players would like to play for Michigan next season. However, there may be circumstances, where they do not have enough scholarships to get all of these players.

Little is also reportedly considering Oklahoma as a destination, as well.

If Harbaugh could flex his muscles and get all of these players, it’ll change the landscape of college football. The Wolverines would be one of the top college football teams in the country if they can all live up to their abilities.
