Philadelphia, Pa. — On Friday night at the 2300 Arena, MMA fighter Allen Otto returned to the Octagon at Art of War Cage Fighting 5. He was fighting for the first time in nearly three years.
“It was a good return,” Otto said. “I had a little ring rust, but it’s good being back in the limelight. I kind of took my time and felt him out in the first round. In the second round, I kind of threw my shoulder out a little bit. I had to fight a little bit more conservative than I wanted to. At the end of the day, I got the decision and I’m happy with it.”
Otto defeated his friend Ricky Nuno in the first pro bout following intermission. Nuno and Otto have talked about fighting each other for years.

Otto won a unanimous decision over Nuno. Two judges had the bout 30-27, while the other had it 29-28.
“Ricky is a good dude,” Otto said. “At the end of the day, he’s a good fighter. He has a good heart and comes from a good camp. We’ve never had any problems. There is a friendly rivalry. It was good to finally get in there and mix it up.”
In the second round, fans began chanting “Allen! Allen! Allen!” In the third round, Otto made many in the crowd stand up as they thought the fight was going to come to an end.
“It felt good, man,” he said. “It was a good feeling.”
Otto would like to get back into the octagon soon. He may have injured his shoulder in the bout though. At least, he has admitted to doing so.

“I am going to take some time off to get my shoulder looked at,” he said. “I’m going to make sure that nothing is torn, then I’ll go from there.”
Otto picked up his first win since October 25th, 2014. He defeated Mahmoud Mohagheghrashid at XFC/CFFC 42 by TKO (Referee Stoppage From Strikes) in the first round.
He had previously lost his previous two bouts, both at Cage Fury Fighting Championships. He lost to Joseph Lowry in February 2015 by unanimous decision at CFFC 46.
Otto also lost Steven Barnett at CFFC 48, by unanimous decision on May 9th, 2015.
This was the first time that Otto fought for Art of War Cage Fighting. This is also the first time that Otto has won a fight after it has gone the distance.
Ricky Nuno suffered his first loss with the promotion after winning at Art of War Cage Fighting 4 over Steve McCabe in December 2017. Nuno is now 4-6 in his professional career. He has traded wins and losses in his past four fights.
