The Arizona Diamondbacks have signed free agent outfielder Adam Jones. He signed a one-year deal.
He will receive $3 million in guaranteed money from this deal. We do not know at this time if there are any incentives tied to this contract.

Jones will be the team’s starting center fielder with this move. Ketel Marté will now serve as a utility outfielder with this signing.

The 33-year-old San Diego, California will be playing for his third MLB franchise. Besides the Orioles, he began his career with the Seattle Mariners.
This will be the first-time in his career that Jones will be playing in the National League.
During last season, Jones refused a trade to another team before the trade deadline. Instead, he wanted to play out the season in Baltimore.
Jones spent 11-years of his career with the Orioles. He went two seasons with the Mariners.
This past season, he had a .281 batting average with 15 home runs and 63 RBIs in 145 games. He also had 35 doubles on 163 hits, while scoring 54 runs.

The 15 home runs were the fewest in his career since he had nine home runs in his first season in Baltimore in 2008 when he had nine home runs.
In his career, he has a .278 batting average with 266 home runs and 878 RBIs in 1,686 games. He also has 311 doubles and 28 triples on 1,813 hits, while scoring 897 runs.
