Former college football player Otis Anderson Jr. was killed in a double shooting on Monday night in Jacksonville, Florida, according to News4JAX. The shooting also left a woman hospitalized.
A man, Otis Lee Anderson, has been charged with second-degree murder following the shootings. He was booked into the Duval County Jail on Tuesday morning.
The residence, according to property records, shows that the residence is owned by Anderson. The shooting is believed to involve family members, according to the police.
The shooting took place at approx. 9:30 pm local time. The police believe that this began as a domestic matter, but would not say more.
Anderson played for the UCF Knights from 2017 through 2020. He was a running back and wide receiver for the team.
“Juice,” as he was known, had 2,182 rushing yards. He also had 1,025 receiving yards for the Knights. He also had 26 total touchdowns.
Earlier this year, he spent time with the Los Angeles Rams in training camp, before being released by the team.
