Huntsville Dragway mourns the death of JR Maddox

According to a social media post, drag racer JR Maddox has passed away. No age was provided.

An official cause of death has not been announced yet. No information was provided on how he may have passed away.

“Community, racers, friends, and fans, it saddens me to my heart to know we’ve lost one of our own today,” the Huntsville Dragway Facebook post said. “Mr. JR Maddox went to his heavenly home to be with the Lord today. Please keep his family in your prayers. From our family here at the Huntsville Dragway, we send our deepest condolences to the Maddox family and to all who had the opportunity to have met this awesome man and racer this crazy, funny guy, who we all came to love. RIP JR.”

Huntsville Dragway, where JR Maddox competed as a drag racer, is located in Harvest, Alabama. It is approx. 20 minutes away from Huntsville, Alabama.
