Justin Swanstrom is one of the biggest stars on the Street Outlaws No Prep Kings tour. But after Friday night at Maple Grove Raceway, he may not be able to compete for a while.

During the filming of the Great 8 in Mohnton, Pennsylvania, Swanstrom was competing against “Super Dave” Adkins. At the very beginning, everything was going fine.

About mid-way through the race, Swanstrom began to experience a fire in the car. Seconds later, Adkins goes on the breaks and loses control of his vehicle.

He then crashes into Swanstrom. The impact causes Adkins to go into the wall, while Swanstrom’s car, which was still on fire, crashed into the furthest wall.

After crashing into the furthest wall, Swanstrom’s car, the Prenup, caught on fire in the front. It comes to a rest with the rear near the wall.

It looked like it was Swanstrom, who got out of the car and climbed over the wall. Safety personnel rushed to their aid and talked to a driver, who may have been Swanstrom.

Seconds later, they go back to the cars to try to get the second driver out, as an Ambulance and a safety truck went to the cars.

Prenup was engulfed in flames before firefighters began to put water on the fire. Eventually, the fire was going out when Chris “Boosted GT” Hamilton said “Drivers Out of the Cars.”

Swanstrom may have been eliminated from the championship with this fire. He is going to have to work with sponsor Todd Anthony at Hormone Logics to get Prenup back up and running as soon as possible.

It’s going to be tough. But Swanstrom experienced an intake manifold backfire during testing and had Prenup back up and running days later for the No Prep Kings event at Virginia Motorsports Park in late April.

Swanstrom’s Prenup was the second car to be engulfed in flames at Maple Grove on Friday. The Patriot car crashed into the wall, then burst into flames.

“Distlike it,” Swanstrom said in a Facebook post. “But it happens, I’m fine. Thanks everyone checking in! I was on a hood pass and competitor came over and clipped my rear quarter of car and that’s all she wrote.

“Will be down a minute. But will be back! Love y’all!”
