Jeffrey Earnhardt is enjoying his downtime. He recently went noodling.

For those that do not know, noodling is when you use your bare hands to catch a cat fish. This usually happens in the spring and summer months.

“Couple good 40lb+ blue cats noodled,” Earnhardt said in a Facebook post. “Swipe all the way to see the start of the noodling season battle scares. Just a few catfish kisses and a swollen finger.

“Fish tagged and released in hopes to catch another day!!! #noodling #handfishing #catfish #bluecat #getbit #getoutdoors”

Earnhardt has appeared in seven NASCAR Xfinity Series races this season. He has one Top 5 finish, as he finished second in the Ag Pro 400 at Talladega Superspeedway in Talladega, Alabama on April 23rd, 2022.

When he finished second at Talladega, it was the second time that he finished in the Top 5 in his career. He also has a third place finish in his career.

Earnhardt — who is the grandson of the late seven-time NASCAR champion Dale Earnhardt and the nephew of Dale Earnhardt Jr. — has made 76 NASCAR Cup Series starts in a five-year span beginning in 2015. His last Cup Series start was in 2019.
