This is the third known stroke that Lawler suffered. He also suffered one in 2012 and another one in 2018.
“I hope my friend is going to be okay. I love you, Jerry,” Wrestler Ricky Morton said on Twitter. “Please direct good vibes, thoughts, & prayers to Jerry at this time. Genuinely appreciate it & hope to hear good news in the very near future. ❤️”
Lawler began his wrestling career in 1970. While working as a DJ, he got the attention of promoter Aubrey Griffith.
That changed his career path, as he has been a wrestler and commentator ever since. He celebrated his 50-year anniversary in the sport in 2020.
He has not served as a full time commentator since 2020 with the World Wrestling Entertainment. Despite not being a commentator, he is currently signed to the WWE.
