“Owner, Promoter, Pioneer and Hall of Famer of the Sportsdrome Speedway – Paul F Gibson “Jake” has taken his last lap on this earth,” Sportsdrome Speedway said in a Facebook post. “Jake passed away peacefully with his family and loved ones on June 5, 2023. Jake had a heart for the Sportsdrome like no other! Jake spent over 50 years at the track he loved so dearly.

“We have no further details at this time, but as soon as they come available we will pass it on. Please keep all his family in your thoughts and prayers.”

Sportsdrome Speedway is a race track in Clarksville, Indiana. It is located in Clarks County.

His death comes just days after the track hosted the Roosters School Bus Figure 8 race. There was also additional racing with other class during their June 3rd feature.

At this time, it is not clear if their June 10th feature will continue or be postponed until a later date. That decision will be made in the days ahead.

Their June 10th race is scheduled to feature Triple 25’s for Modified Figure 8. And additional racing, as well.
