“Please keep Steve Rando and his family/crew in your prayers as they were involved in a serious accident on the way home from the track tonight,” Attica Raceway Park said in a statement on Facebook. “Our prayers also go out to the passengers of the other car involved.

“We have received several messages with updates, but nothing we have been able to confirm. For that reason we will not be posting anything more at this time. A heart-filled thank you to all the fellow racers that have stopped at the accident to check on those involved.”

He was 10th in qualifying. Rando then finished third in the Heat 2, Group B session.

Then in the 25-lap, A-Main, Rando finished 13th.
