Michigan’s J.J. McCarthy has declared for the 2024 NFL Draft

Michigan Wolverines quarterback J.J. McCarthy has declared for the 2024 NFL Draft. He is expected to be a Top 10 pick. 

Even some mock drafts have McCarthy going within the Top 5. We’ll find out where he gets drafted in April.

The Junior is leaving after a high mark. He helped the Wolverines to their first National Championship since 1997 on Monday night.

Michigan defeated the Washington Huskies 34-13 in the College Football Playoff National Championship game. It was the Wolverines’ first outright Championship since 1948.

McCarthy went 10 of 18 for 140 yards in his final game with the Maize and Blue against the Huskies.

This past season, McCarthy went 240 of 332 for 2,991 yards. He also had 22 touchdown passes and four interceptions.

In his final season, he also finished 10th in the Heisman Trophy ballot.

“I know lots of us got some big-time life decision to make,” McCarthy said on a stage at Crisler Center on Saturday after celebrating the National Championship. “But I just want to let you guys know, whatever decisions come, Michigan will forever be in my heart and will always be in my heart. And, I will be proud to be known as a Michigan man.”
