Veteran journeyman Danilo Gallinari has signed with the Milwaukee Bucks. According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, he signed with the Bucks because he wanted to play for Doc Rivers.

He previously played for Rivers. Gallinari previously played for the Los Angeles Clippers from 2017 through 2019 when Rivers was their head coach.

Backing up both starting power forward Giannis Antetokounmpo and center Brook Lopez is Bobby Portis. Gallinari will slot in behind Portis, according to ESPN’s depth chart. Rivers may give Gallinari additional time if there are injuries to the starters or they take time off to rest.

This will be his third team this season. All of them have come since January.

He began the season with the Washington Wizards. Then in January, he was traded to the Detroit Pistons.

Galinari and Mike Muscala were traded from the Wizards to the Pistons on January 14th. In exchange, the Wizards received Marvin Bagley, Isiah Livers, 2025 second round draft pick and a 2026 second round draft pick.

Then, Gallinari was released by the Pistons on February 8th.

Gallinari played 26 games with the Wizards. He then played six games for the Pistons before being released.

The Bucks will be Gallinari’s eighth NBA team once he suits up and plays. He has played in 760 games in his career.

He has a 15.2 points per game average. He is also averaging 4.7 rebounds.
