UFC releases Genaro Valdez

According to the UFC Roster Watch on X, the UFC has released Genaro “Rayadito” Valdez. He currently has a 10-3 record.

The Mexican has dropped his last three fights. All three bouts have come within the UFC.

Nearly one year ago, he was defeated by Evan Elder at UFC on ESPN 49. He won by unanimous decision on July 15th, 2023.

Before the Elder fight, Valdez dropped a fight with Natan Levy. This was also a unanimous decision win for Levy, who won on UFC on ESPN 42 on December 3rd, 2022.

His first loss in the UFC came to Matt Frevola. At UFC 270, Frevola won by a TKO (Punches) in the first round on January 22nd, 2022.

One has to go all the way back to October 2021 to find his last win. That’s when he defeated Patrik White during the Dana White’s Contender Series in Week 6 with a TKO (Punches) in the second round.

Valdez had nine straight wins to begin his professional career before appearing on the Dana White’s Contender Series. He had six knockout wins.

He also had three wins by rear-naked choke submissions. These submissions came in wins over Edgar Diaz Guzman, Alan Bautisa Munoz, and Luis Martinez.
