Both teams have resumed their Major League Soccer season after having this game pushed back. Out of nearly 50 teams in the Leagues Cup tournament, only four advanced to the final day of the month-long tournament.

The Crew defeated LAFC to win the second edition of the Leagues Cup tournament. The Colorado Rapids defeated the Union in the third-place game at Subaru Park in a penalty kick shootout.

The Crew and Union were tired from the long Leagues Cup tournament. Union head coach Jim Curtin admitted that both teams were tired and that impacted the play.

The Crew are in third place of the Eastern Conference standings. They have a 13-7-4 record and have 46 points.

The Union; however, are standing in the 10th position. Yet, they are just one point out of ninth place and the final playoff spot.

The Philadelphia based team are 6-9-11 this season. They have just 27 points.

The Union have struggled mightily at home this season. But before the Leagues Cup break, they had won two straight games.

They also won at least four games in the Leagues Cup tournament. Several of these wins were at home.

Now, they will play the majority of their final eight games on the road. The team will have just three home games remaining.

Crew’s Yaw Yeboah scored the lone goal. He scored in the 75th minute.

There were four yellow cards handed out in the contest. The Crew received three; however, two were handed out late for delay tactics.

Those were handed out to Malte Amundsen and Patrick Schulte for delay tactics. Derrick Jones also received a yellow card.

The Union’s Kai Wagner received a yellow card.
