The UCLA Bruins have fired offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy on Thursday. He was with the Bruins for less than one year.

Now, the Bruins are looking for their second offensive coordinator under head coach Deshaun Foster.

CBS Sports is reporting that the Bruins are targeting Indiana Hoosiers co-offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Tino Sunseri. He has been with Hoosiers head coach Curt Cignetti since the 2021 season at James Madison.

Sunseri had the title of offensive coordinator for the first time in 2024.

It was Bieniemy’s first college job in over a decade. He was without a job after the NFL coaching cycle once he was let go by the Washington Commanders as their offensive coordinator.

His offense had just 221 points on the season.

The team had a 5-7 record in Foster’s first season leading the team after Chip Kelly departed to become the Ohio State Buckeyes offensive coordinator. Yet, the offense was dreadful, as they were 126th out of 134 teams with their 18.4 points per game average.

Only one game during the season did the Bruins break 30 points. They had 35 points in a 35-32 win over the Rutgers Scarlet Knights in New Jersey.

This win actually snapped their five-game losing streak.

The Bruins also had three games where they scored at least 20 points outside of the Rutgers game. They had 27 points in a 27-20 win over the Nebraska Cornhuskers.

They also had 20 points in a 20-17 win over the Iowa Hawkeyes. This led to the Bruins three-game win streak.

Then, last weekend in the regular season finale, the Bruins had 20 points in a 20-13 win over the Fresno State Bulldogs.
