The Houston Texans have claimed wide receiver Diontae Johnson off waivers. Due to the short notice, Johnson may not play against his former team in two days.
Johnson’s Houston Texans team hosts his former employer, the Baltimore Ravens on Wednesday. The game has a 4:30 pm EST start time — and is the second NFL Christmas Day game.
This Christmas will mark the 31st and 32nd NFL game on Christmas Day. The Ravens-Texans game will be the 32nd game on the national holiday.

The Texans hope that Johnson could help the team. On Saturday, the Texans lost wide receiver Tank Dell with a torn ACL and dislocated kneecap.
Dell is out for the rest of this season and may not play during the 2025 season due to the severity of his injury.
The Ravens recently released Johnson after being a headache with the team. He refused to play in their loss to the Philadelphia Eagles.
He was acquired in a trade from the Carolina Panthers in October 2024. Johnson was acquired with a 2025 sixth-round pick from the Panthers for a 2025 fifth-round pick.
Johnson appeared in four games, including one start, for the Ravens. He had just one reception for six yards, according to Pro Football Reference.
