Wolverines defeat the Crimson Tide 19-13 in the ReliaQuest Bowl

The Michigan Wolverines defeated the No. 11 Alabama Crimson Tide for the second straight Bowl season. The Wolverines won 19-13 over the Crimson Tide in the ReliaQuest Bowl at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa. Florida.

With the win, the Wolverines finished with an 8-5 record under first-year head coach Sherrone Moore. The loss dropped the Crimson Tide to 9-4 under first-year head coach Kalen DeBoer.

Last year, the Wolverines defeated the Crimson Tide in the Rose Bowl Game, which was part of the College Football Playoff. The Wolverines won the game on January 1st, 2024 by the score of 27-20.

Michigan has had the most appearances in this particular Bowl game. With today’s win, they are now 4-3 in this Bowl game.

Alabama has now appeared in this ReliaQuest Bowl game three times. However, they have won it just once in 1997 when the then-No. 16 ranked Crimson Tide defeated the then-No. 15 ranked Wolverines on January 1st, 1997 in the Outback Bowl.

Alabama’s other loss in the game also came against the Wolverines. In the then-Hall of Fame Bowl, the Wolverines defeated the Crimson Tide on January 2nd, 1988.

Wolverines quarterback Davis Warren went 9 of 12 for 73 yards. He also had one touchdown.

Jordan Marshall had 23 carries for 100 yards. Fredrick Moore also had three receptions for 37 yards and one touchdown.

Crimson Tide quarterback Jalen Milroe went 16 of 32 for 192 yards. He had one touchdown pass and one interception.

Rico Scott led the backs, as he had one carry for 28 yards. Germie Bernard had four receptions for 80 yards.

Both teams traded field goals in the second half. Wolverines kicker Dominic Zvada made a 37-yard field goal.

Crimson Tide kicker Graham Nicholson made a 51-yard field goal.

The Wolverines led 16-10 in the first half. Warren hit Moore for a 13-yard touchdown reception.

Zvada made three field goals. He first made a 45-yard field goal. He then made a 30-yard field goal.

And finally, he made a 21-yard field goal.

Crimson Tide’s Milroe hit Robbie Ouzts for a 25-yard touchdown reception. Nicholson made a 24-yard field goal.
