Bailey Zappe

Bailey Zappe was a college football player. He excelled in his lone season at the FBS level.

He played for the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers during the 2021 season. He played in 14 games in his final season.

He came to the Hilltoppers after playing for the FCS level Houston Baptist Huskies. He followed former Houston Baptist offensive coordinator Zach Kittley to Western Kentucky.

In his final season, Zappe went 476 of 687 for 5,967 yards in 14 games. He had 62 touchdown passes and 11 interceptions.

He broke the passing yardage record by former Texas Tech Red Raiders quarterback B.J. Symons in 2003 during the 2021 Boca Raton Bowl. Also, in the game, he broke the NCAA’s record for most touchdown passes in a season.

Zappe broke Joe Burrow’s touchdown passing record in 2019.

Outside of the record-breaking passing season, he also had 241 carries for 210 yards. He also scored on four rushing touchdowns.
