The Columbus Destroyers defeated the Nashville Kats on Thursday night. The Destroyers won 58-56 over the Kats at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee.
The Destroyers improved to 1-0 on the season. The Kats fell to 0-1.

Destroyers quarterback Matt Nagy went 23 of 35 for 245 yards. He had seven touchdown passes and one interception.

Harold Wells had three carries for seven yards and a touchdown. Damien Groce had 11 receptions for 121 yards and three touchdowns.
Kats quarterback Clint Stoerner went 23 of 39 for 325 yards. He had five touchdown passes and an interception.
Dan Alexander had seven carries for 23 yards and three touchdowns. Cornelius Bonner had eight receptions for 122 yards and three touchdowns.
Both teams scored 27 points in the second half. Nagy hit Darcey Levy for a 20-yard touchdown reception. Following this touchdown, the extra point was no good.
The duo also connected on a 28-yard touchdown reception. Nagy hit Groce for a 22-yard touchdown reception. Wells also scored on a three-yard touchdown reception.

Alexander scored on a five-yard rushing touchdown. Stoerner hit Alonzo Nix for a nine-yard touchdown reception. Following this score, their two-point conversion failed.
Stoerner hit Bonner for a 25-yard touchdown reception. Stoerner also connected with Jason Shelley for an 11-yard touchdown reception.
Destroyers led 31-29 at halftime. Nagy hit David Saunders for a five-yard touchdown reception. The duo also connected on a four-yard touchdown reception.
Nagy hit Groce for a 21-yard touchdown reception. The duo also connected on a second 21-yard touchdown reception in the first half.
Peter Martinez also made a 24-yard field goal.
Nate’ Stoerner hit Bonner for a 33-yard touchdown reception. Alexander scored on a six-yard rushing touchdown. Following this touchdown, the extra point was missed.
