The New York Jets have been very secretive about what they are going to do with Tim Tebow. He was acquired in a trade with the Denver Broncos in March.

But new Jets offensive coordinator Tony Sparano says the Jets are going to use the wildcat package a lot. He said, “100, and something snaps out of 1,100 snaps.”

“For me to go there and put something out on the field and give somebody a month to prepare for it, I mean, a month,” Sparano said. “Again, I mean no disrespect but you guys (reporters) can figure that out in a month. I might have a chance to figure your job out in a month, okay? It’s a month.”

If that is the case, Tebow could be used at least six plays a game for the wildcat package. For the time being, Tebow is still expected to back up Mark Sanchez and come in for special packages, such as the Wildcat package.

He is expected to be used a lot in short-yardage situations, especially in the red zone. He is expected to take a handful of touchdowns away from running back Shonn Greene.

Other than that, Tebow may just serve as a backup to Sanchez. That’s, of course, if he doesn’t get injured then it’ll be a different story, as he may be turned into the starter.

Last season, Sanchez, the Jets starting quarterback, went 8-8. This was coming off of a 2010 season that saw him guide the team to an 11-5 mark.

Sanchez went 308 of 543 for 3,474 yards. He had 26 touchdown passes and 18 interceptions.

Tebow went 7-4 as the Broncos starter in the regular season in 2011. He went 126 of 271 for 1,729 yards.

He had 12 touchdown passes and six interceptions.
