The Titans had several teams attempting to acquire this pick. The Chicago Bears and the Philadelphia Eagles were among the teams interested in acquiring the pick.
Yet, instead of dealing away the pick, the Titans are hoping that they selected a franchise quarterback. Last season, the team had four players, who took snaps as a quarterback.

It’s also just the fifth time that two Heisman Trophy winners have been drafted in the first round. The previous times were in 1980, 2006, 2010, and 2011.
Zach Mettenberger went 0-6 in his six starts. He went 107 of 179 for 1,412 passing yards.
He had eight touchdowns and seven interceptions.
Charlie Whitehurst went 1-4 in his five starts. He went 105 of 185 for 1,326 passing yards.
He had seven touchdowns and two interceptions.
Jake Locker also went 1-4 in his five starts. He went 86 of 146 for 993 passing yards.
He also had five touchdowns and seven interceptions.
Jordan Palmer also went 1 of 3 for seven yards when he received snaps as a signal-caller.
Mariota declared for the NFL Draft after three seasons at Oregon. As a junior, he went 304 of 445 for 4,454 passing yards in 15 games.

He had 42 touchdowns and four interceptions. He also won the Heisman Trophy following the completion of the regular season last December.
As a sophomore, Mariota went 245 of 386 for 3,665 passing yards. He also had 31 touchdowns and four interceptions.
During his freshman campaign, he went 230 of 336 for 2,677 passing yards in 13 games. He also had 32 touchdowns and six interceptions.
