After all, quarterback Dillon Gabriel will not play for the UCLA Bruins. The Hawai’ian initially announced that he would attend the Los Angeles, California school.

Now, about three weeks later, Gabriel has announced that he will now attend the University of Oklahoma. He will play for the Oklahoma Sooners.

According to 247Sports, he was the No. 10 ranked player in the NCAA transfer portal. He is expected to compete for the Sooners starting quarterback role.

Gabriel’s decision came right around the time that it was announced that former Oklahoma quarterback Caleb Williams had entered the transfer portal. While he has yet to confirm his next destination, it is believed in the college football landscape that he will transfer to the University of Southern California to reunite with Lincoln Riley.

Williams help guide the Sooners to an 11-2 record in 2021. He went 136 of 211 for 1,912 yards as a freshman. Plus, he also had 21 touchdown passes and four interceptions.

Gabriel went 2-1 as a starter in his final season with the Knights. He went 70 of 102 for 814 yards.

In addition, he threw for nine touchdown passes and three interceptions.

In his last full campaign, Gabriel went 6-4 as a starter during the COVID-19 season. He went 248 of 413 for 3,570 yards.

The Hawai’ian had 32 touchdown passes and four interceptions. The 32 touchdown passes were a career-high so far.
