Virtual Game Puck: Martin Necas 2 G, 1 A vs. Seattle

In this virtual game puck story, we have awarded Carolina Hurricanes center Martin Nečas an award for his performance against the Seattle Kraken. He had two goals and one assist in the contest on Thursday night.

He was awarded the first start in the game. With the Hurricanes trailing 2-0, Nečas scored at 18:22 in the first period for his third goal of the season.

Nečas also tallied a goal in the overtime period. He scored at 4:50 in the period to give the Hurricanes a 3-2 win.

He also assisted on Jesperi Kotkaniemi’s goal in the third period. This goal tied the game at 2 and Brady Skjei also was created with an assist.

This was Nečas’ best performance of the season. In just eight games this season, he had not scored two goals in a game.

He previously had one goal against the Anaheim Ducks on October 15th. And another goal two days later against the San Jose Sharks on October 17th.

This was his first two-goal performance since he had two goals against the Sharks on January 27th, 2023 in a win.

It is his second two-goal performance over the last two seasons.
