The ARCA Racing Series had an extremely close finish on Saturday at Elko Speedway in Elko New Market, Minnesota. William Sawalich won the Shore Lunch 250 presented by Dutch Boy Paints by less than one second.
Sawalich, driving the Starkey/Soundgear Toyota, won his home race by 0.011 seconds from second-place finisher Max Siegel Inc. Chevrolet driver Lavar Scott.
“That was one of the best races I’ve ever put together and this team has put together,” Sawalich said in Victory Lane. “Just really shows our dedication and our teamwork towards this race and obviously in front of the home crowd, this is awesome. This is the coolest thing ever to do this.

“I was racing Legend cars here four years ago. It is pretty emotional. I’m glad I could have my family here and all my friends here.”
The New Jersey native Scott and the hometown Sawalich had been going back and forth in the final laps. Scott led a career-best 100 laps on Saturday night.
This was Sawalich’s fifth win on the season. Overall, he has now won nine ARCA Racing Series events in the past two seasons.
He has won the past two events. He also won last weekend during the Salem ARCA 200 at Salem Speedway in Salem, Indiana.
However, this is his first win at his home track in Minnesota. According to Google Maps, Eden Prairie, Minnesota, where Sawalich was born, and the race track is 33 minutes away.
The 2nd place finish for Scott tied his career-best finish. He also finished second to Sawalich during the Berlin ARCA 200 at Berlin Raceway in Marne, Michigan.
FNB Corporation Toyota driver Kris Wright finished in third place. He was 0.043 seconds behind Sawalich.

Mobil 1 Toyota driver Isabella Robusto finished in the fourth position. She was 0.845 seconds behind Sawalich.
Scott’s teammate Andres Perez finished in the fifth position. The Max Siegel Inc. Chevrolet driver was 0.994 seconds behind.
