The Washington Commanders defeated the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday night. The Commanders won 30-24 over the Falcons in overtime at Northwest Stadium in Landover, Maryland.
With the win, the Commanders improved to 11-5. The loss dropped the Falcons to 8-8.
The Commanders received a berth in the playoffs with the win. The Falcons; however, suffered a devastating loss, as their playoff hopes are in doubt now.

They need the New Orleans Saints to beat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers next Sunday. If not, the Falcons will not be able to clinch a playoff berth even if they beat the Carolina Panthers at home.
The loss snapped the Falcons’ two-game win streak. The Commanders have now won four straight games.
Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels went 24 of 36 for 227 yards. He had three touchdown passes.
Daniels had 16 carries for 127 yards. Olamide Zaccheaus had eight receptions for 85 yards and one touchdown.
Falcons quarterback Michael Penix Jr. went 19 of 35 for 223 yards. He had one touchdown pass.
Bijan Robinson had 17 carries for 90 yards and two touchdowns. Drake London had seven receptions for 106 yards.
The Commanders outscored the Falcons 23-7 in the second half and overtime. Zach Ertz caught the game-winning two-yard touchdown in overtime for the Commanders win.
Chris Rodriguez Jr. scored on a two-yard rushing touchdown. Daniels hit Ertz for a 10-yard touchdown reception. Zane Gonzalez made a 31-yard field goal.

Falcons’ Penix Jr. hit Kyle Pitts with 1:23 left in the game.
The Falcons led 17-7 at halftime. Robinson scored on a one-yard rushing touchdown. Robinson also scored on another one-yard rushing touchdown in the second quarter.
Riley Patterson made a 39-yard field goal.
Commanders’ Daniels hit Zaccheaus for a seven-yard touchdown reception.
