Dallas Cowboys defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer has a lot of his mind as he prepares for the Washington Commanders on Sunday in their season finale. But he put a ring on his girlfriend’s finger.
This is the only ring that Zimmer will be getting this season, as the Cowboys have been eliminated from the playoff contention. Thus, they will not be competing for a Super Bowl and its championship ring.
According to WFAA’s sports reporter Mike Leslie, Zimmer proposed to his girlfriend Katarina Miketin. The proposal happened recently.
“Congrats to Cowboys defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer and his new fiancee Katarina Miketin,” Leslie said in a Facebook post. “The pair announced their engagement on instagram earlier today”
Zimmer is in his first season as the Cowboys defensive coordinator. He is 68, while Miketin is just 42.
They have been dating publicly since 2021.
“Five years ago they told us we needed to meet,” the Instagram post said. “God knew what He was doing. I thank Him for you, my best friend…so, of course… I said Yes!”
Before returning as the defensive coordinator with the Cowboys, he served as an analyst for Deion Sanders teams at Jackson State and Colorado in 2022 and 2023. He was the Minnesota Vikings head coach from 2014 through 2021.
Miketin, according to online reports, she is a model, who has worked for Sports Illustrated and Maxim.
