Butker’s FG gives Chiefs AFC Championship over Bills

The Kansas City Chiefs are going to their third straight Super Bowl. The Chiefs defeated the Buffalo Bills 32-29 Sunday night at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri.

With the win, the Chiefs will compete in yet another Super Bowl. The team will play the Philadelphia Eagles in the Super Bowl on Sunday, February 9th, at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana.

This will be a rematch of the Super Bowl two years ago. The Chiefs won 38-35 over the Eagles at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona.

The Chiefs are trying to be the first NFL team to win three straight Super Bowls.

According to OptaStats, the Bills are the first team ever to win a playoff game in five straight years. However, they failed to reach the Super Bowl in any of those seasons.

OptaStats is also reporting that the Chiefs are the first team ever to eliminate the same opponent from the playoffs four times within a five-year span.

There were many controversial plays in the game that went against the Bills. There was even a fourth down, where Bills quarterback Josh Allen made it for a first down. However, the referees decided that it was not a first down when he was past the yellow line on the TV.

Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes went 18 of 26 for 245 yards. He had one touchdown pass.

Kareem Hunt had 17 carries for 64 yards and one touchdown. Xavier Worthy had six receptions for 85 yards and one touchdown.

Allen went 22 of 34 for 237 yards. He had two touchdown passes.

James Cook had 13 carries for 85 yards and two touchdowns. Mack Hollins had three receptions for 73 yards and a touchdown.

The Bills outscored the Chiefs 13-11 in the second half. Cook scored on a one-yard rushing touchdown. Allen hit Curtis Samuel for a four-yard touchdown reception.

Chiefs’ Mahomes scored on a 10-yard rushing touchdown. Following the score, Mahomes hit Justin Wilson to complete the two-point play.

Harrison Butker also made a 35-yard field goal.

Kansas City led 21-16 at halftime. Hunt scored on a 12-yard rushing touchdown.

Mahomes hit Xavier Worthy for an 11-yard touchdown reception. Mahomes also scored on a one-yard rushing touchdown.

Bills’ Cook scored on a six-yard rushing touchdown. Allen hit Hollins for a 34-yard touchdown reception.

Tyler Bass also made a 53-yard field goal.
