PHILADELPHIA, PA — The Philadelphia Wings fans had more fun during halftime than they did during the game. The Wings dreadful losing streak continued on Friday night at the Wells Fargo Center.

The Ottawa Black Bears defeated the Wings 13-5. The Wings have dropped their last eight games.

The Wings have the second-worse record in the NLL with a 5-10 mark. They were 5-2 and one of the top teams in the league before falling like a rock.

Only the Las Vegas Desert Dogs have a worse record than the Wings. The Desert Dogs have been eliminated from playoff contention with their 3-12 record.

The Black Bears are in the playoff hunt with their 7-8 record. Only the top 8 teams will make the playoffs — and they are tied with the Calgary Roughnecks, who are also 7-8.

The Vancouver Warriors and the Georgia Swarm are 7-7.

At halftime, country music singer Dillon Carmichael performed. The fans were into his performance.

But they did not like the lackluster performance by the Wings. Despite the losing, the team was involved in many fights in the fourth quarter.

The Wings have not won a game since Martin Luther King Jr. Day back in January. That’s when they improved to 5-2 on the season.

They defeated the Warriors 14-13 at the Wells Fargo Center. Since this game, it has been downhill ever since.

And there are some rumblings online and via the fans that the Wings may fold after the season. Comcast Specatcor paid $5 million for the expansion Wings franchise that debuted during the 2018-19 season.

Taggart Clark and Jeff Teat led the Black Bears with four goals apiece. Clark had three assists. Teat also had five assists.

Reilly O’Connor had two goals. He also had two assists.

Callum Jones, Larson Sundown, and Connor Kearnan also had one goal each. Sundown had one assist while Kearnan had five assists.

Travis Longboat had three assists while Jake Stevens, Kevin Brownell, and Eric Fannell had one assist each.

Black Bears goaltender Zach Higgins received the win. He allowed five goals and made 41 saves.

Higgins was recognized during the game, as he previously played for the Wings franchise. He was traded to the Black Bears in the off-season after the Wings added Nick Damude.

Wings captain Blaze Riorden had one goal and one assist. Joe Resetarits also had one goal.

Phil Caputo, Evan Messenger, and Brennan O’Neill also scored a goal. O’Neill also had an assist.

Mitch Jones had four assists. Liam Patten and Shane Simpson also had one assiat apiece.

Damude received the loss. He allowed 12 goals before being replaced by Deacan Knott, who gave up one goal in 4 minutes and 44 seconds.

He also made 39 saves in 55 minutes and 16 seconds.
