ECW legend Sabu has passed away. He was 60.
An official cause of death has not been determined yet. His birth name is Terrence Brunk.

“AEW and the wrestling world mourns the passing of Sabu,” AEW said in a social media post. “From barbed wire battles to unforgettable high-risk moments, Sabu gave everything to professional wrestling.
“Our thoughts are with his family, his friends and his fans.”
Sabu recently had his final wrestling match in Las Vegas at Joey Janela’s Spring Break during WrestleMania weekend.
Sabu began his in-ring debut in March 1985. His final in-ring match came on April 18th.
“Nobody made me want to be a wrestler more than Sabu,” wrestler Mark Briscoe said. “R.I.P. to a true hardcore legend. Suicidal, homicidal, genocidal 4-ever”
“The Homicidal, Suicidal, Genocidal, Death-Defying Maniac” won 1,078 matches in his career, according to Cage Match database stats. He also had 539 losses and 118 draws.
“My heart is broken. 💔,” ECW diva Francine said on social media. “Rest in peace to my friend Sabu. I love you always.”
Sabu had just one match in 2025. When he fought Janela, it was his first match since 2021 when he fought twice.
The Wrestling legend defeated Janela in 17 minutes and 7 seconds in their No Rope, Barbed Wire match at GCW’s Joey Janela Spring Break 9 in Las Vegas.
“He was an outlaw and a gamechanger,” Game Changer Wrestling said in a post on social media. He inspired so many that stepped inside a GCW ring and he will continue to inspire for generations to come.
“His legacy will last forever and he will never be forgotten. Rest in Peace, and… Long Live SABU ☝️”
