49ers agree to five-year extension with QB Brock Purdy

The San Francisco 49ers have re-signed quarterback Brock Purdy on Friday. He did not reset the quarterback market.

He has agreed to a five-year $265 million contract extension, which keeps him signed through the 2030 season.

Purdy will average $53 million per season. This new agreement has $181 million in guaranteed money. Purdy will receive $165.05 million in guaranteed money in the first three years of this agreement.

The signal-caller is now the seventh-highest-paid quarterback in the NFL. Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott is the highest-paid quarterback at $60 million per season.

The Queen Creek, Arizona native was a seventh-round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, making him “Mr. Irrelevant” by being the last pick.

Since taking over as the 49ers starter three years ago, Purdy has gone 23-13. He went 5-0 during the 2022 season.

Purdy then went 12-4 during the 2023 season. In 2024, Purdy guided the 49ers to a 6-9 record in 15 starts.

He went 300 of 455 for 3,864 yards. Purdy had 20 touchdown passes and 12 interceptions.

In his three-year career, he has gone 722 of 1,069 for 9,518 passing yards. He has thrown 64 touchdown passes and 27 interceptions.

Purdy led the 49ers in passing the last two seasons. Now, this agreement means that he should be the team’s highest passer for years to come.
