“It is with a heavy heart that I must announce I’m unable to race this weekend’s Baja 500,” Menzies said in a social media post. “I sustained an injury in my neck during qualifying at the San Felipe 250, and while I initially thought it was not a big deal, upon returning home from the race, I was still dealing with constant headaches. I decided to go to the hospital, where we discovered I had ruptured an artery going to my brain, which led to having a stroke. After many trips to various specialists to figure out exactly why it happened, we’re all confident that I will make a 100% recovery. Despite my best efforts to speed up my recovery, I still need a few more weeks before I am cleared to go racing.
