Jerry Jones is the owner of the Dallas Cowboys. He is one of 32 owners in the NFL.
He has owned the Cowboys since the 1989 season. Besides being the team’s owner, he is also their President and General Manager.

Jones purchased the team from H.R. “Bum” Bright for $140 million. Shortly after becoming the team’s owner, he fired legendary head coach Tom Landry.

At the time, Landry had been the team’s only head coach. Jones replaced him with Jimmy Johnson, who he had been teammates with at the Arkansas Razorbacks.
Months after the purchase, Jones fired former general manager Tex Schramm. Once this move was announced, he had full control over football matters.
Since he took over the franchise, the Cowboys have won three Super Bowls. Their wins came in Super Bowl XXVII, Super Bowl XXVIII, and XXX.
He was also named the NFL Executive of the Year in 2014. Jones was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2017.
The billionaire owner is involved in several other business ventures outside of the NFL.
