With the conclusion of the Oakland Raiders season, Charles Woodson is officially retired. He had mentioned in December that he had planned to retire at the end of the season.
Of course, Woodson could change his mind. But it doesn’t appear like he will do that.
His final game came on January 3rd against the Kansas City Chiefs. The Chiefs won 23-17 at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri.
The Raiders, which finished with a 7-9 record, saw Woodson have seven tackles in the game.
Woodson — who was the 4th overall pick in the 1998 NFL Draft — played in the league from 1998 through 2015. He spent 18 seasons with the Raiders and the Green Bay Packers.
He spent 11 seasons overall with the Raiders. And seven seasons with the Packers.
Woodson played for the Raiders from 1998 through the 2005 season. He then joined the Packers for the 2006 season.
He was a member of their team through the 2012 season. Woodson then returned to the Raiders for the final three seasons, where he played from 2013 through 2015.
He appeared in 254 games, including 251 starts. The former Michigan Wolverines product had 1,220 tackles, including 54 tackles for a loss and 21 quarterback hits.
