Anthony Johnson easily dispatched Ryan Bader in the UFC Fight Night Main Event from the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. Johnson needed less than a minute and 30 seconds to finish the job.
Johnson knocked out Bader cold when he started to drop punches on his head. Bader knew that he couldn’t make a mistake – but he made a fatal one that cost him this fight.
“I never give full mount,” Johnson said after the fight in his post-fight interview with Joe Rogan. “People can say whatever they want about me. I want to come out here and have fun.”

The fight was called at 1:26 in the first round when referee Keith Peterson waved off the fight.
Seconds into the fight, Bader went for the takedown, but Johnson stuffed it. He then looked for kimura submission when he had Johnson’s arm locked.
“Well, he was either going to come after me or play it safe,” Johnson added. “He decided to come after me and it didn’t end well for him.”
However, when he let go of Johnson’s arm, it was seconds from being over.
He now ties Chuck Liddell with 10 knockouts in the UFC. Johnson now wants a shot at the Daniel Cormiér vs. Jon Jones fight – which hasn’t been scheduled it.
Cormiér hasn’t lost since January 2015’s big fight with Jones. Following that fight, Jones went into rehab for drugs and then was released by the company when he was involved in a hit-and-run.

Cormiér is the only individual to defeat Johnson in his last 11 fights. The Light Heavyweight Champion said he was injured after defeating Johnson.
Johnson improved to 21-5 in his MMA career. In his career, 71% of his fights have ended with a knockout or a technical knockout.
Besides the Cormiér loss in 2015, he only lost twice since Jan. 14th, 2012, when he lost to Vitor Belfort at UFC 142 on the José Aldo vs. Chad Mendes card. Belfort defeated him with a rear-naked choke in the first round.
Bader drops to 20-5 in his career. Three of his five losses have come by a knockout or a technical knockout.
This is Bader’s first loss since Sept. 4th, 2013 when he lost to Glover Teixeira at UFC Fight Night 28 in the main event. He lost this fight also in the first round with a TKO punch.
