Philadelphia, Pa. — In the main event of Art of War Cage Fighting 5, Kyle Daukaus stopped Elijah Gbollie Jr. in the second round at the 2300 Arena. Daukaus defeated Gbollie Jr. at 4:30 in the second.
Daukaus improved to 4-0 with the win. This is his fourth straight submission win, as he used a rear-naked choke to get the win.
“It feels great,” he said. “It was a fight that I needed. I took the a** beating that I needed, but I got the win. It’s really what I needed.”

Before Daukaus dominated the later part of the second round, he had trouble with Gbollie Jr. He was blocking several of his takedowns and even reserved position on one.
“The game plan was not on it to shoot,” he said. “But it was a mental thing and I had to take him somewhere. It was good.”
Daukaus submitted Tyler Bayer at CFFC 69 on December 16th, 2017. He also submitted Kyle Walker at KOTC: Regulator on July 1st, 2017.
He also submitted Dino Jukio at AFL 53 on February 18th, 2017.
This was the first time that Daukaus was the main event. He was the co-main event in his debut pro-fight against Jukio.
This is also the second time that Daukaus submitted a fighter in the second round. He submitted Bayer in the second round of their preliminary card in December.
“The funny thing is that I’m getting all these submission wins, but I’m a striker coach,” Daukaus said. “People underestimate my striking game. I feel good when I’m on the ground in there for some reason.”
This was the first time he fought for Art of War Cage Fighting. It was also in his hometown of Philadelphia.

“It was good,” Daukaus said. “It’s been a long time since I fought at home. The last time I fought at home was this time last year. I fought for the Asylum Fight League.
Gbollie Jr. has fallen to 5-3 in his professional MMA career. The Maryland native saw his one-fight win streak disappear with the loss.
He defeated Doneler Benedetto at Shogun Fights 17 when he won a split decision on October 7th, 2017. He’s 1-2 in his past three fights, as he also lost to Karl Roberson at Shogun Fights 16 on April 8th, 2017 via a knockout in the first round.
After winning his first three bouts, he has gone 2-3 since March 19th, 2016.
