By Anthony Caruso III | Publisher Brad Barbarick has stepped down from being the Concordia University (Oregon) men’s basketball coach. He was the basketball coach for 25-years and had 375 wins during that time. A national search has begun immediately to find his replacement. “Coach Barbarick has dedicated 25 years to Concordia University,” said Vice President & Director of Athletics Lauren Eads. “Under his leadership, the men’s basketball program has produced a long list of alumni who have graduated from Concordia and proceeded to make incredible impacts within their communities. His focus on character and academic success will remain pillars of our program.” In his final season with the team, he guided the program to an 11-17 record. They also had a 6-14 conference record. Despite the bad record, Barbarick guided the team to a 2-0 game win streak to end the season. They defeated the Simon Fraser Clan in an 84-72 record at Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada. They also won against Western Washington Vikings in a 79-70 in Bellingham, Washington. The team’s last winning record came during the 2014-15 season when they went 25-7. That season, the team also had a 14-4 conference mark. The Cavaliers won 12 games at home, as they went 12-4. They also had 12 road wins, as they were 12-2 on the road. The team was 1-1 in neutral site games. This team lost in the second round of the NAIA DII National Championships. They were defeated 97-78 to the Cornerstone Golden Eagles on March 13, 2015.
