Wendy Smozanek, the wife of Street Outlaws No Prep Kings competitor Wayne Smozanek, has announced that her husband is in the hospital. He has been in the hospital for several days.

He is battling COVID-19. He was admitted to the hospital on Friday, December 17th, according to her posts.

“Will and I are blessed to be feeling better and beyond blessed that our hospital allows us to go into the ICU and see him from his window,” Wendy Smozanek said in a Facebook post. “His spirits were definitely lifted when we went in for about 15 minutes on Sunday and he has agreed to be on his stomach, the doctors have asked him to lay this way, and Will and I begged him and he agreed. After only about 30 minutes on his stomach, his oxygen numbers improved.

This is a very small step.. but a step in the right direction. Today was a good day.. they are giving him some medication to help him relax and be able to sleep in his stomach for long periods of time. So tonight I ask each one of you to say another prayer to help him heal so he can get to come home to us, yes work and of course his real passion racing! Prayers that tomorrow is a better day than today. He is still day by day and Will and I are being cautiously optimistic! We love all of you and appreciate all the support!”

Smozanek said that she and her son also tested positive for the virus. Her husband had the worst, as he also had to deal with pneumonia.

Smozanek is the third known driver from the Street Outlaws to also go in the hospital due to COVID-19. Street Outlaws veteran Chuck Seitsinger was in the hospital with the virus in July 2020.

In January 2021, Street Outlaws Texas member Mike Murillo was also in the hospital for the virus.
