“Matthew Charles Lomeli, I am in constant awe of you,” Esparza said in a Facebook post. “You are such an amazing human being, and you make me want to be a better person every day. I think back to something my mom said about my grandparents, that each of them would go back and forth telling people, “I’m the lucky one, no I’m the lucky one” to be with the other. I feel like the luckiest woman in the world to have found you. You are so perfect for me. You are better than “the man of my dreams” because you far exceed what I had ever even dreamed of. Your kindness, morals, work ethic, and intelligence are just some of the many amazing qualities I love about you.

“I love that you can get your hands dirty and be in the garage building something one minute, and put a suit and tie on and be at a nice event the next. I love that you are so amazingly romantic and sweet, but that you are also such a strong leader and person. You are the best of both worlds, and I feel so grateful every single day to have found my perfect match, my best friend, and my life partner. With you by my side, I feel that anything is possible.”

Esparza is 19-6 in 25 MMA fights. She has been competing in the UFC since 2014.
