The school also announced on Sunday morning that two other people connected to the program were also involved in the accident. At this time, we just know that they are in stable condition.

“The entire Georgia family is devastated by the tragic loss of football student-athlete Devin Willock and football staff member Chandler LeCroy,” Georgia said in a statement. “Two other members of the football program were injured in the accident. They are both in stable condition, and we will continue to monitor their status with medical personnel.

“Devin and Chandler were two special people who meant so much to the University of Georgia, our football program, and our athletic department. We ask that everyone keep their families in your prayers during this very difficult time.”

The incident happened at approximately 2:45 am. Willock, according to the reports, was the passenger, according to the police.

The authorities said that LeCroy was the driver. They also said that the vehicle left the roadway before striking two power poles and several trees.

Willock passed away at the scene. LeCroy later died at the hospital.
